STMicroelectronics Rolls Out Feature-Rich Digital Power Monitor for Streamlined Energy Management
In a bid to advance energy management technologies, STMicroelectronics has released the TSC1641, a state-of-the-art digital power monitor with the capability to precisely measure current, voltage, and power. Equipped with high-precision input channels, this innovative device also supports the sophisticated MIPI I3C1 bus interface for seamless integration.
Aimed at enhancing efficiency and dependability, the TSC1641 is a key player in a variety of high-demand applications. Its offerings are crucial for improving operations in industrial-grade battery packs, converters, and power supplies, as well as infrastructural hardware such as data center and telecommunications equipment, not to mention its versatility in hand-held power tools.
Key to its design is the dual-channel 16-bit ADC, which ensures concurrent monitoring of DC current and voltage. By doing so, it allows for the internal computation of power that, when synchronized, affords an exceptional level of precision in power usage evaluations.
Connectivity with host systems is made versatile with I2C, SMBus, and MIPI I3C communications, enhancing device reporting. The TSC1641 doesn't just report metrics—it actively safeguards the system by signalling abnormal conditions that could lead to circuit damage, thanks to its comprehensive warning system complete with a dedicated alert pin and onboard temperature sensor.
